Tragedy struck in Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Saturday as three persons lost their lives in an auto crash at Bada Romo village. The accident, which occurred around 8:00pm, involved one articulated vehicle with number plate ABS620XA and a private Focus Saloon car with plate number AG999JRE.

According to Mr Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident was caused by wrongful overtaking. Six persons were involved in the road crash, consisting of four male adults and two female adults.

Sadly, three people lost their lives on the spot, including two female adults and a male adult. The other three persons involved in the accident were unscathed. The FRSC personnel cleared the crash scene in approximately 10 minutes.

The driver of the private car was identified as Usman Alansa. The corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for identification, while the items and vehicles involved were handed over to the Police in the state.

Mr Abdullahi charged motorists to be vigilant and always adhere to traffic rules and regulations while using the roads. The incident has brought sorrow to the people of Bauchi State, and it is a stark reminder of the importance of safety on the roads.
