BASKETBALL AFRICA LEAGUE PLAYOFFS SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

Eight Teams from Angola, Cameroon, Egypt, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia have all qualified for the Inaugural Basketball Africa League Playoffs.

Following the completion of the 12-team group phase, organizers of the BAL today announced the quarterfinals matchups and game schedule for the semifinals, third place game and first BAL Finals, which will be played at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda and broadcast to fans in 215 countries and territories in 15 languages.

The qualified teams are: Atlético Petróleos de Luanda of Angola; A.S. Douanes of Senegal; A.S. Salé of Morocco; F.A.P of Cameroon; Ferroviário de Maputo of Mozambique; Patriots B.B.C. of Rwanda; U.S. Monastir of Tunisia and Zamalek of Egypt.

 
On Wednesday, F.A.P of Cameroon who are seeded 7th will square off against 2nd seed and one of the tournament favourites, Zamalek of Egypt, later that evening, there will be a rematch between 3rd seeded Petro De Luanda against 6th seeded A.S. Sale of Morocco with the latter losing by 19 points in their final group game played just over 48 hours ago.

Action on Thursday would see 8th seeded A.S. Douanes of Senegal battle it out against tournament favourites and number 1 seed, US Monastir of Tunisia while the final quarterfinals playoff tie will throw up a delicately poised tie when 5th seed, Ferroviário de Maputo of Mozambique go up against home team and number 4 seed, Patriots B.B.C. of Rwanda.

Semifinal games will be held on Saturday, May 29th while the first BAL Finals will take center stage on Sunday 30th of May, 2021.
