Former Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi has confirmed the sudden death of his wife, Kate, in the United States.
The Big Boss, as Keshi is fondly referred to, revealed that his wife had been sick for a while but he never expect that the sickness will lead to her death.
“She (Keshi’s wife) has been ill for a while now but the death is coming as a big shock to us,” a close friend of the former Togo and Mali coach told PREMIUM TIMES.
“Keshi is very downcast at the moment because we know how dearly he loves his wife,” the source added.
A report on completesportsnigeria.com quoted Keshi as saying that the burial rites for the late wife would soon be made public.
When PREMIUM TIMES put a call through to Emmanuel Ardo, Keshi’s close friend and representative, the lawyer was sobbing as he confirmed the sad news but begged to be left alone for now as he was not emotionally stable to make any comment at the moment
“It’s true, but I can’t talk now,” Ardo said.
