Labour party charges Uba on campaign promises

The Chairman of Labour Party, Mr Dan Nwanyanwu, has urged Mr Ifeanyi Uba, the party’s candidate in the upcoming Anambra governorship election, to keep to his campaign promises

He gave the advice on Tuesday in Abuja while presenting INEC governorship nomination form to Uba, saying the party would in earnest launch its campaign for the election in Awka.

“In the next few days, we are going to

start our campaign in the Anambra capital. The party is ready for the Nov. 16 governorship election.

“But it is also necessary that you (Uba) should keep to the promises you make during the campaign process,’’ Nwanyanwu said.

Responding shortly after receiving the form, Uba expressed gratitude to the people of the state and the party faithful for giving him the opportunity to serve.

He assured them he would deliver on his campaign promises if elected.

“Anambra people should trust me and my team, and they should believe in the Labour Party. This is a party that wants to wipe away the tears of poverty from the eyes of our people,’’ Uba said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Uba emerged the governorship candidate of the party at the primaries held in August in Awka.(NAN)
