Ojo, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and breach of peace.
Aina said that after the defendant got out of the car, the complainant discovered that his phone was missing.
“He later tracked the device, which led to the police arresting the defendant.”
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravene Sections 302 and 181(1)(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He asked the court for an adjournment to study the case file and present his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Adeyinka Opaleke, urged the court to grant the defendant bail, assuring that his client would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦50,000, with one surety of like sum, and adjourned the case to Feb. 4 for hearing.(NAN)
