The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has cleared eight of ten local government areas so far released by INEC in the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Edo State.
Results as were announced by collation officers from each of the local government areas before the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Mike Igini, the state Collation Officer, Vice Chancellor of University of Benin, Prof. Faraday Orumwense and security chiefs in the state showed that PDP scored nineteen thousand four hundred and forty to knock out the APC which scored six thousand one hundred and fifty one votes in Esan North East.
Results from Esan Central placed PDP results at twelve thousand and three votes while APC polled a total of seven thousand six hundred and eighty eight votes.
Also in Egor, PDP scored twenty one thousand seven hundred and seventy votes even as the APC polled total of eighteen thousand one hundred and thirty five votes.
In Esan West, PDP scored nineteen thousand six hundred votes while APC scored nine thousand five hundred seventy eight votes.
PDP led with ten thousand three hundred and sixty five votes at Etsako Central against APC eight thousand one hundred and fifty two votes.
Etsako East voters gave PDPÂ thirteen thousand seventy one votes while they gave the APC secured nine thousand seven hundred and eighty-eght votes.
PDP also won in Igueben with six thousand eight hundred and fifty four votes, while APC scored total of five thousand six hundred and ninety two votes.
PDP recorded a landslide victory at Ikpoba Okha local government, the stronghold of the commissioner of Works, Mr Osarodion with thirty one thousand three hundred and seventy three votes against APC’s eighteen thousand five hundred and twenty seven votes.
However, the APC won Etsako West local government area overwhelmingly where it secured 26, 444 against PDP ‘s 13508.
It also won in Owan East where it polled twelve thousand nine hundred twenty five votes against PDP’s twelve thousand one hundred twenty one votes.
