Badagry (Lagos State),Sept.15, 2025 (NAN) The Police in Lagos on Monday arraigned 28-year-old Olayinka Rasheed in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly abducting a 15-year-old girl.
The defendant, whose address is unknown was charged with abduction and breach of peace but he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo told the court that the defendant committed the offences between Sept.7 and 10, at about 10:30.a.m at Pota, Iyana-Ilogbo, Badagry, Lagos state.
Ekpo alleged that the defendant unlawfully abducted 15-year-old Deborah Hunkokode, without the consent of her parents.
“The defendant allegedly conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by causing pandemonium.
“He was arrested and handed him over to Police for prosecution.
“The offence contravenes the provisions of Sections 268 and 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said that one of the sureties must be a community leader with two years tax clearance.
Layeni adjourned the case until Oct.22, for mention. (NAN)
