Tsafe (Zamfara), Feb. 16, 2026 (NAN) Rep, Kabiru Maipalace (PDP-Zamfara) has inaugurated the distribution of food items as Ramadan welfare packages targeting no fewer than 8,000 constituents.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Maipalace represents, Gusau and Tsafe Federal constituency in Zamfara.
Speaking at the distribution of the items in Tsafe on Monday, Maipalace said the gesture was aimed at providing succour to his constituents, considering the economic hardship faced by many vulnerable households.
He said, “You know, Ramadan is the period of worship and being closer to Allah, this gesture is expected to reduce burden to many households to
“The package comprised 50kg bags of rice, cartons of indomie a spaghetti, milk egg and sugar for each beneficiary.
“You know, as I always says providing these items especially during the period of Ramadan is necessary to reduce economic hardship among vulnerable families.
“We are providing foodstuffs and other utilities to no fewer than 8000 households in Gusau and Tsafe LGAs.”
According to the lawmaker, the beneficiaries included Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), orphans, widows and other indigent families.
He added that the beneficiaries also included traditional and religious leaders, members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressive Congress (APC) and other political parties.
Maipalace added, “We are also extending this gesture to media houses, social media users and the security agencies.
“Among the beneficiaries were politicians who contributed immensely in the victory of the PDP in the state and Gov. Dauda Lawal’s administration.
“This is the right time to assist people especially the needy for them to prepared for the approaching Ramadan fasting.
“This gesture is an annual my event to complement Gov Lawal’s administration commitments in alleviating the economic hardship among people of the state.
“This is necessary considering the increasing number of vulnerability in our communities due to insecurity especially vulnerable women and children.”
He, however, cautioned the beneficiaries against selling the items, saying, ” we provided them for you to take care of your families during the holy month of Ramadan.”
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Salamatu Ishaq and Bello Muhammad, appreciated the lawmaker and prayed for his success.(NAN)
