Ibadan, Feb. 26, 2026 (NAN) A company security guard, Oluwasola Adebanjo, and four others were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged stealing of diesel valued at N55,200.

The other defendants are Abiodun Oguniyi, Tiamiyu Kabiru, Ibraheem Bello and Afeez Isiaka.

Adebanjo, 37; Oguniyi, 35; Kabiru, 42; Bello, 33; and Isiaka, 43, are facing three counts of conspiracy, stealing and negligence of duty.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Jan. 29 at about 10.00 p.m. at Pace Setter Transport, Eleyele, Ibadan.

Folaranmi alleged that the defendants conspired and stole 46 litres of diesel worth N55,200 belonging to the company.

He further alleged that Adebanjo, as the security guard on duty, neglected his responsibility and failed to prevent the stealing of the diesel.

He said the offences contravened Sections 344, 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until May 3 for hearing. (NAN)
