Ibadan, Feb. 10, 2026 (NAN) The police on Tuesday, charged a 30-year-old man, Ayomide Olabamiji, before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued one million naira
The defendant is standing trial on a one-count of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, PC Olapeju Durodola, alleged that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 16, 2025, at about 4.00 p.m, at Oba’s compound in Ogbomoso.
She alleged that the defendant stole a Lifan Typhoon Lady motorcycle belonging to one Mr Sunday Adegbile.
The motorcycle is valued at one million naira.
According to the prosecutor, the defendant was eventually arrested following investigation by the police.
The offence contravene the provisions of Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Law of Oyo State 2000.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She held that the sureties must be blood relatives of the defendant.
The court adjourned the case until June 2, for hearing.
