Association urges parents to send children to schools

The Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) worldwide has urged parents and guardians to send their children and wards to schools considering the importance of education to societal development.

 

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the ECDA President, Dr John Abimiku, and made available to newsmen in Nassarawa Eggon on Monday.

 

The statement quoted the ECDA President, Mr. Mandy David-Abuluya, as saying that parents should give adequate attention to the education of their children.

 

“This is to enable their children become better leaders and for the overall development of the society.

 

“The Eggon Community Secondary School resumes today, Jan. 10, 2022, for both new and returning students,” he said.

 

The ECDA president said that tuition is free for students from Junior Secondary School (JSS) 1 to JSS 3 in line with its free education policy.

 

“There is also going to be the screening of teachers and other would–be staff that will help to sustain the academic excellence in the school for the current academic session.’’

 

Meanwhile, the ECDA President, had commended the support of Sen. Godiya Akwashiki ( APC- Nasarawa North) for donating a new 18-seater bus to the school to ease students’ transportation.

 

He also appreciated him for promising to pay the May/June 2022 WAEC and NECO Registration fees for the students of the school,” he said.

 

The ECDA president solicited the support of all Eggon sons and daughters, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other individuals to fast track the renovation of the school buildings in order to restore its lost glory.(NAN)
