Ojude-Oba festival: Dickson congratulates Oba Adetona on successful hosting

Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, has congratulated the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona on the successful celebration of the 2017 Ojude-Oba festival ‎which took place last Sunday.

Dickson in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson expressed delight that the annual festival again brought together sons and daughters of the ancient kingdom to show to the world the unity that exist among them as a people.

The governor who regretted his unavoidable absence at the annual festival said as someone who partly hails from that land, it would have been a thing of joy to be part of the event but added that he looks forward to next year’s Fiesta.

While equally congratulating the entire people of Ijebuland, Dickson noted that the rich culture and colorful display ‎at the festival  was very admirable and commended the Oba for his sound leadership and inspiration which according to him has also help to sustain the peace of the kingdom.

He thanked all those who contributed in one way or the other to make the over 100 year old festival great‎, saying it has been observed that over the years that ‘Ojude Oba’ has brought more love, peace and prosperity to all the indigenes of Ijebuland.

The ‎’Ojude Oba’ festival is an annual Yoruba event held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and usually comes up on the third day after the Muslim festival of Eid-el-Kabir.
