Badagry, (Lagos State) March 5, 2026 (NAN) The Police on Thursday arraigned a 22-year-old man, Nelson Chinyeaka at the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly assaulting his blood brother.
The defendant, whose address is unknown is being charged with assault, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP. Edet Ekpo told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 20, at about 7.00.a.m at No. 9, Krope Ajayi Str., Itoga Badagry, Lagos.
Ekpo alleged that the defendant stabbed his brother, Chigozie Chinyeaka, the complainant, with a kitchen knife on his left hand causing him to sustain an injury.
“The defendant was arrested and handed over to the Police for prosecution. The offence contravenes Section 371 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in the like sum.
He directed that one of the sureties must be his blood relative and adjourned the case until April 9, for mention. (NAN)
